In 1412 Fīrūz led an expedition into Gondwāna. The Gond or Hindu governor of Māhūr was again in rebellion and Fīrūz, finding the fortress too strong to be reduced, plundered southern Gondwāna, slaying the inhabitants and capturing 300 wild elephants, but was eventually obliged to return to his capital, leaving the rebel unpunished.
