v3.c28.3

Early in March, 1437, Dilāvar Khān was sent into the Konkan to establish the king’s authority, and reduced the Hindu chieftains of that region to obedience. The raja of Sangameshwar, besides paying tribute, surrendered his beautiful and accomplished daughter to ‘Alā-ud-dīn, who married her and bestowed on her the name of Zībā Chihra (‘Beautiful Face’). After this expedition Dilāvar Khān resigned the lieutenancy of the kingdom and was succeeded by the eunuch Dastūr-ul-Mulk.
