All these expeditions and depredations of Rama Raya against the Muhammadan kingdoms, although they occasionally were temporary allies of his, finally caused every one of the Deccani Sovereigns to join in a common alliance to put an end to the unbearable arrogance of the Hindu Monarch. Such was the origin of the confederacy of all the Muhammadans of the Deccan against the Hindu Empire. The result was the so-called battle of Talikota, a battle that had such a dire influence on the future of Vijayanagara. We shall relate all these events in one of the following chapters.
