⁴ Cf. Francis, Anantapur Gazetteer, p. 191. In an inscription of 1543, Rama Raya is said to be ruling the Empire of the world in Penukonda. Ep. Carn., IV, Kr, 79. This is probably a spurious inscription, since it represents Rama Raya with imperial titles, “seated on the jewelled throne,” which was unusual in the first days of Sadasiva’s reign.
