One of his agents was named Dantikanti Lingappana, who in the year 1577 repaired the *bund* across the stream Bhogavati, on the West side of the Mallikarjuna temple on the top of a hill near Srisailam, Karnul ¹. We know from this inscription that Rama was still living in the year 1577; but his death must have occurred shortly after, because the *Chikkadevaraya Vamsavali* states that ‘Rama Raya died after a short time’ and soon after Tirumala’s death ².
