In 1608 the Jesuits had not yet gone to Seringapatam. Another letter of Fr. Coutinho, written in this year, says that "Tirumalarayu, the Prince, is continously writing ollas to us from Cirangapatao (Seringapatam), where he resides, calling us (to his court) and showing by writing the same friendship he showed personally to us while going to Goa, along with the ambassadors of the King" 3.
