9. Surappa Nayaka of Jinji was the patron of the famous poet Srinivasa Dikshita, on whom was bestowed the title of Ratnakheta Dikshita, on account of his excellent poetry. He wrote 18 dramas, the most famous among them being the Bhavanapurushottama. Besides he composed 60 epics, such as the *Sathakandavijayamu*, several works on rhetoric, and many commentaries ¹.
