The following information, given us by his Minister and favourite Ramamatya Todaramalla in his *Svaramelakalanidhi* probably refers to this time: "He had a palace called Ratna Kuta", says he, "constructed by his minister Ramamatya; and he was struck with admiration as it excelled even Vaijayanta, the palace of the gods. The palace was surrounded by extensive gardens adorned with statues, which contained cool tanks abounding with swans" ³.
