v2.c15.s9.3
As a reward for their alliance the Mahrattas received from Chhattarsal one-third of his territories, the parganas so ceded were situated in the south and west of the region and were supposed to yield a revenue of 30,76,953 Rupees or about £300,000 a year.* They seem to have soon had some difficulties with their Bundela neighbours in the parent State of Orchha for in Zul Qada 1144 H. (April-May 1732) Pirbhuji a brother of Malhar Holkar was killed in a fight with Rajah Udwat Singh of that place.
