¹ Dāṭhā-vaṃso, J.P.T.S., 1884, p. 109, verses 72-94 ff. “Guha-Śivāhvayo rājā” (72); “taththa rājā mahātejo Jambu-dīpasya issaro” (91); “tuhyaṃ sāmanta-bhūpālo Guha-Śīvo panādhunā, nindato tādise chhavatthiṃ vandate iti”. The complaint was made to the Emperor at Pāṭaliputra that his feudatory of Kaliṅga was worshipping a piece of ‘dead bone’, and reviling Brahmanical gods!
