¹ The inscriptions Nos. 1-12 were discovered by Lieut. Col. James Low, and a short account of them was published by Mr. J. W. Laidlay in J. A. S. B., 1848, Part II, pp. 62 ff., pl. IV ; 1849, Part I, p. 247, pl. X. Lt. Col. Low refers to another inscription on the four sides of a brazen ornamented dish, but no facsimile is published. Mr. Laidlay read it as Savita (Samvat ?) 1399. He also notices a brick with two early letters (Jaya ?).
