¹ Kshīrasvāmin, commenting on Amara-kośa (II. 6. 113), explains kshauma as made of the fibre of kshuma. This is explained as Atasī both in Amara-kośa (II. 9. 20) and the commentary on Manu (II. 41) by Nandana. Atasī (or Atasī) is a synonym for common flax, hemp, linseed etc.
