Ilā had a son Purūravas Aila, the progenitor of the great Aila race, who reigned at Pratiṣṭhāna ¹ (Allahabad). The early part of the Aila genealogy from him to Yayāti's five sons is given by twelve Puranas and twice by the Mahābhārata, and part is also given by the Rāmāyaṇa.²
