This dynasty, which reigned in the portion of Pañcāla north of the Ganges, is given by eight Puranas.⁴ All are in substantial agreement (except that the Brahma is incomplete) down to Divodāsa's son Mitrayu. Then divergencies occur as regards Mitrayu's son and Sṛñjaya and Cyavana-Pañcajana, and the Brahma, Harivaṃśa and Agni call Sudāsa Somadatta. After that all agree. This
