² The references in p. 151, note ² say ‘in low lands near the sea’, sāgarānūpe; but MBh ix, 40, 2273–9, 2283; 41, 2307, 2313 say at Ruṣaṅgu’s tīrtha on the R. Sarasvatī. The two might agree, if the sea then encroached on the Rajputana desert; see note in chap. XXV.
