³ Rantideva Sāṅkṛtya, who was earlier (p. 39), is said to have done honour to a ‘Vasiṣṭha’, MBh xiii, 137, 6250: xii, 234, 8591. In brahmanical fables ‘Vasiṣṭha’ is connected with king Nahuṣa the Aila erroneously, Pad ii, 108; also as priest with Purūravas, Br 151, 8, 10.
