⁸ Hv 95, 5218–28, the genealogy of which is wrong, as explained, see pp. 122, 170. His city Māhiṣmatī existed long before the time of Mādhava and Sattvata, who are made contemporaries of Mucukunda in this story (verses 5205–6, 5240–2). It was the capital also of Arjuna Kārtavīrya (see infra).
