These Puranas thus declare that the manuṣya pitṛs attain to the same condition and position as the divine Pitṛs, dwell in heaven and reproduce the world in the next creation—that is, they are the ‘seed’ which generates fresh life in the next creation.¹² Such is precisely the doctrine which Āpastamba quotes from the Bhaviṣyat.
