⁹³ Barani calls him one of the heroes of Sultan Subuktagin. Abul Fazl and Nizam-al-Din describe him as a relative of the Sultan of Ghazni. Firishta also describes him as a relative of Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni, who came to Hindustan during the reign of one of his descendants and was killed by the Hindus in 557 A.H. (1162 A.D.).
