¹⁰⁷ When Ghiyas-al-Din came to Dihli, the Sultan almost apologised to him for having rendered *biat* to the 'Abbasid at Cairo. Ibn Batutah, III, pp. 260-61. In speaking of the abolition of taxes by the Sultan Ibn Batutah again makes mention of his submission to the Khalifah.
