According to the Hindus the cause of the invasion of Kampil was the lust of conquest, while Ibn Batūṭah says, it was caused by the flight of Bahā-al-Din to the Rai. The Hindu tradition says that none of the royal family survived the attack, while Ibn Batūṭah positively asserts that the Rai had eleven sons some of whom he met in India.
