According to Dr. R. L. Mitra, the editor of the inscriptions, the grant of Keśavadeva is dated in *Pāṇḍavakukādīpālābda Saṁ.* 4328 (*Kali Yuga* = A.D. 1245). The reading and interpretation of this date are not free from doubt, but it agrees with the date 703 A.H. (A.D. 1303) which is given as the date of the conquest of Srīhat (Sylhet) by Sikandar Khān Ghāzī in the reign of Sulṭān Fīrūz Shāh, in a stone inscription, discovered in Sylhet and now lying in the Dacca Museum.¹ If the date for Keśavadeva is correct, it would appear that the Musalmans conquered Sylhet after, or in the reign of, his successor Īśānadeva.²
