But he probably mistook the cerebral ṇ for l; both the letters are almost alike in the script of the period (*OM*, p. 115). The Talcher grant shows that Kulastambha was also known as Raṇastambha. Dr. Barnett suggests that the 'division of names' in Kanānaya Jaka is 'probably wrong.'
