² This is the view of Kielhorn. To me a comparison with the *Lakṣmī* on Semra plates, *EI*, Vol. IV, plate facing p. 166, seems to indicate that what that scholar took to be expanded water lilies is really an imperfect representation of the two other arms of the *Gaja-Lakṣmī*.
