(2) *Ajaigarh stone-inscription.*—This opens with verses invoking Viṣṇu under various names, such as Murāri, Hari, Mādhava, Rāma, etc. In V. 24 one Nāna is said to have served as *Saciva* of the Candrātreya kings. In V. 25 he is mentioned as serving king Bhojavarman. The inscription was composed by Amara, and appears to record that this Nāna, ‘caused an image of Hari to be placed at the celebrated fort of Jayadurga (Ajaigarh).’ The date (*V.*) *S.* 1345 (A.D. 1288) is given in V. 37.¹
