⁵ *Ras*, pp. 89-90. Forbes apparently took this account from Merutuṅga. See *PC*, p. 72. This authority gives the name of Karṇa's mother as Dematī. See also *ibid*, pp. 73-75. Merutuṅga tells us that there were differences about the division of the spoil between Bhīma and Karṇa after the capture of Dhārā and death of Bhoja. Ḍāmara, Bhīma's minister, we are told, for some time imprisoned Karṇa. See *infra*, DHNI. Vol. II, chapters on the *Paramāras* and the *Caulukyas*.
