¹ *Lār(ṭ?)a-vasudhā-bhañja*, *EI*, Vol. I, pp. 297 and 302, V. 8. Note also the statement in the same verse, that he 'was not easily accessible to the wives of other men,' and compare it with *Kumārapāla-carita*, I, 33-34, which seems to shew he really took another's wife by force.
