(18) *Junagarh stone-inscription.*—Incised on a piece of hard black stone and found in a Śaiva temple at Junagarh. It contains 34 lines of very much damaged writing. It opens with an invocation to Śiva, and then gives the genealogy of the Caulukyas of Aṇahilapāṭaka from Mūlarāja, followed by the names of Bhīma, Karṇa, Jayasiṁha and Kumārapāla. It seems to record the building of a Śaiva temple by the last prince of Ānandanagara⁴ and his minister Dhavala. The date is Valabhi-*Saṁvat* 850 and Siṁha-*Saṁvat* 60 (A.D. 1169).⁵
