The history of the Cāhamānas may be conveniently grouped round the following heads: (1) *Cāhamānas of Lāṭa*, (2) *Cāhamānas of Dhavalapurī*, (3) *Cāhamānas of Partabgarh*, (4) *Cāhamānas of Sākambharī*, (5) *Cāhamānas of Raṇastambhapura*, (6) *Cāhamānas of Naḍḍūla*, (7) *Cāhamānas of Jāvālipura*, and (8) *Cāhamānas of Satyapura*. Of these the last three (Nos. 6, 7 and 8) were undoubtedly connected with No. 4; but the relationship of the first three with each other or with the rest is at present unknown.
