A.D). We are told that the Ābu Paramāra Dhārāvarṣa, a feudatory of the lord of Aṇahillapāṭaka repulsed a nocturnal attack of the king of Jāṅgala.¹ The *Pṛthvīrāja-vijaya* mentions a victory of the Cāhamāna prince over one Nāgārjuna, who had besieged Guḍpur. Unfortunately neither the prince nor the locality mentioned can at present be identified. But it contains significant allusions to the rise of a 'beef-eating *mleccha* named Ghorī' in the North-West who had captured Garjani (Ghaznī).
