The epithet *trisamudrādhipati* which the *Harsha-charita* (Book VIII) applies to the Sātavāhana friend of Nāgārjuna cannot fail to remind cne of Gautamīputra Sātakarṇi 'whose chargers drank the water of the three oceans' (*tisamudatoyapītavāhana*), or one of his immediate successors.
