v1.c14.s2.26
Political necessity compelled the Hindus and Muhammadans to be on terms of mutual friendship. The latter sometimes sought the aid of the former to regain political supremacy in the Deccan. Thus in A.D. 1435 Muhammad Khān, the younger brother of Sultan 'Alā-ud-dīn Shāh Bāhmani II, rebelled against his brother, instigated, as Firishtah relates, by some discontented officers of 'Alā-ud-din. Prince Muhammad Khān "procured a considerable army from the Ray of Beejanuggur to aid him, he seized upon Moodkul and Rachore, as well as Sholapoor, Beejapoor and Nuldroog".⁴ Tabātaba also describes the rebellion of Muhammad Khān, but does not say that the king assisted him.¹
