The Kaikkōḷars (or Keyikōḷars) were also a prominent community. Somewhere about A.D. 1370, the Kaikkōḷars of Haṭṭalakōṭe secured a remission of taxes imposed on them from the Viceroy Chikka Kampaṇa Oḍeyar, son of Bukka Rāya⁴. These Kaikkōḷa weavers have also figured in the revenue history of Vijayanagara detailed in the previous pages.
