About deer and tiger hunts we have a few notices in the inscriptions. Virūpāksha's claims to be called *Gaja-mṛgayā-vihāra* were not ill-founded. An inscription of A. D. 1474 relates that Haryaṇa invited Virūpāksha Rāya for a great deer hunt, evidently nearabouts Ālugōḍu in the Gayā-tristhāna.⁷
