Guṇṭa, Tel. (a) A pond. (b) A land measure equal to 1/40th or 1/32th of a gorru which is generally about 3 1/8 acres. In Nellore a guṇṭa is taken as equal to 2,756 1/4 square feet or 0633 acre, being 1/50th of a gorru. In the case of garden lands, however, the guṇṭa is only 02725 acre or merely 1/116ths of a gorru.
