*Yōjana*, S. A measure of 12 miles, 1280 yards according to some. But in a copper-plate grant No. 20, Bitrigunta, it is described as being 3 *yōjanas* north of Nellore, and this would make the *yōjana* just about 8 miles. (*B. & C.* III, p. 1500). A *Yōjana*= 4 *krōśa*=8 or 9 miles (*Ap.*, p. 789). According to Dr. Fleet, however, 1 *yōjana*=4 1/2 miles; and 1 *krōśa*=1 1/8 mile=1 mile and 1 furlong.
