v2.c26.67
When night dropped the curtain on the terrible scene of the day's slaughter, and Dara fled away, none of his officers (except Firuz Miwati) accompanied him, as their property and families were in Ajmir. Next day they submitted to the victor and entered his service. Askar Khan, Syed Ibrahim, Jani Beg and other officers who occupied Dara's extreme right, had held their positions till about 9 p. m. Then the news of Dara's flight reached them, and towards the end of the night they came to Saf Shikan Khan begging for quarter. The wounded Muhammad Sharif accompanied them, but, in spite of medical treatment by his chivalrous enemy, he died.*
