v3.c38.s2.37
Early in his reign he ordered his governor of Kashmir to compel the people of that valley to put on drawers and cover their nakedness (K.T. 48b), which they were evidently too poor or too primitive to do. He censures his eldest son for going to church in a waistcoat (nim-astin) instead of being properly dressed for a serious work like prayer. [Adab, 181b.]
