∗ Orme, 109, corrected from Bombay to Surat 3 Jan. and 19 Jan. 1682, the last of which adds: "Shambhuji incessantly keeps firing against Danda Rajpuri (i.e., Janjira island), and it is thought by many that Siddi Carry will be forced to quit it, for the number of shot and grenado shells that are sent to the island every day does his people much mischief and there is security in no part, and Shambhuji is resolved not to raise the siege so long as he hath a rag to his back."
