It is neither possible nor necessary to give here the history of every *subah* of the Mughal empire during this reign. The historian is concerned with those provinces only whose affairs assumed an imperial importance by influencing the course of events in other parts of the country and thus modified the Emperor's policy and the destiny of the empire.
