These were an ever-present menace to the peace of the country. To them were added in Aurangzib's reign another race of disturbers who soon surpassed the others in the range and vigour of their power, the superiority of their organisation and persistence, and the frequency and success of their raids, till at last they swept Mughal rule out of the province under Aurangzib's unworthy descendants.
