Bālkrishna Dikshit writes on 15 Feb. 1751:—“On my pilgrimage to Gaya I alighted at Daudnagar [a town in South Bihar.] There some 3 or 4 hundred horsemen of Nilopant Vaishampāyan came up and plundered the market of Daudnagar, taking away four lakhs worth of goods. They also laid hands on me, and I lost clothing utensils and a gold chain weighing 12 tolas. They had no sardar over them; only a man named Mānāji Bhāgwat.” [Raj. iii. 383.]
