v4.c44.s2.40
Gopāl Bhāu advanced from Pataudi, 12 miles westwards to Rewāri, took that town from Ismail's officers and established his own rule there. Then, after blockading Imail Beg's father Munim Beg in Gokulgarh fort (two miles north of Rewāri), he set out westwards seeking the enemy. When his advanced division reached Kānti (12 miles east of Nārnaul), Ismail Beg, on 13th May, beat a hurried retreat from his last base Nārnaul, and ran to Patan, about 19 miles further south. The Maratha army promptly followed him there.
