¹ *Contra* K. V. S. Aiyar, *Ancient Dekhan*, p. 167. Dr. S. K. Aiyangar, *op. cit.*, p. 53 and *A.R.E.*, 1921, part ii, para 41. Mr. Aiyar refers to two facts in support of his view—(1) that the king is called a second Rāma in plundering the island of Ceylon and (2) stone epigraphs providing for the Kodaṇḍarāman-śandi.
