¹ It may be suggested that Śennilam is not a proper name but that the word only means a battlefield and may refer to any or all the battles won by the king. But the text of the inscription (l. 56, Vēḷvikkuḍi) and the references to Śennilam in the commentary to the Agapporuḷ leave quite a different impression on the mind.
