21. The quotations are from Schoff: *Periplus*. Schoff says: 'Coast country is from the native name, Cōḷa coast Cōḷamaṇḍalam.' (p. 241). This is hardly satisfactory as Cōḷa-maṇḍalam only means Cōḷa country, not 'coast.'
