Only a few inscriptions from the neighbourhood of Tanjore attest the closing years of Parāntaka's reign, and they are dated in the forty-fifth and forty-sixth regnal years of Parāntaka.⁶⁰ An inscription from Vanamaladinne in the Punganur taluk of Chittoor district is dated in the 48th year of Parāntaka, A.D. 955. This may mean that the king lived at least up to that year.60a
