Very probably Gaṇḍarāditya was the author of the single hymn on the temple of Cidambaram. In this hymn there is a distinct statement that Parāntaka I conquered Pāṇḍya country and Īḷam, and covered the temple of Naṭarāja with gold; and the author calls himself, like Parāntaka, the king of Kōḷi (Uṟaiyūr) and the lord of the Tañjaiyar (people of Tanjore).⁴⁴ Gaṇḍarāditya seems to have been known also as *Mēṟkeluṇḍaruḷina-dēvar*, the king who went to the west.⁴⁵
