¹⁴ 'Perhaps Kāndaḷūr or Kāndaḷūr Śālai was near Viḷiñam . . . Kāndaḷūr Śālai which is said to belong to the Cēra king in later inscriptions was probably held by the Pāṇḍyas when it was attacked by Rājarāja.' Venkayya, *SII*, ii. Intr. p. 2.
