Besides the extant *Vikramaśōlan-ulā*, the poet laureate Oṭṭakkūttan composed a *paraṇi* on the Kaliṅga war of Vikramacōḷa. We learn the name of the work from the two other *ulās* of the same poet, and its authorship from a gloss on his *Takkayāgapparaṇi*.⁹ This work is not now available; if it is ever recovered, it may add considerably to our knowledge of this period so rich in quasi-historical works of literature.
